“At the last minute, Amanda stepped in to organize FCNL’s Spring Lobby Weekend with 400 attendees. She is unflappable, rock solid, well  organized, detail focused and above all else fun to work with. We couldn’t have done this event without her.”

— JIM CASON, FCNL

“I can't recommend Amanda enough; I've hardly worked with anyone as organized, nimble, and productive as she is, particularly with the moving parts and various schedules of lobby day events.”

— MINDY FINN, stand up republic

NIAC (3).png

“Two weeks before a multi-day summit, we were in need of an event planner. Amanda quickly took charge and made sure all of the logistics ran smoothly. She went above and beyond my expectations for executing the summit. Without Amanda, this event wouldn't have happened at all, much less been such a success.”

— JAMAL ABDI, Niac

“Amanda made it possible for us to have a fantastic 50th Anniversary event that had multiple in-person and online bells and whistles. She dived right into everything with flexibility, creativity, needed expertise, and exquisite taste, and it was so much fun to work with her! Her connections, as well as skill and rapport in working with our other excellent vendors and venues, were invaluable.”

about AMANDA

As founder and owner of A Capitol Event, Amanda wears many hats: vision translator, problem solver, chief diplomat, and therapist, using her steel magnolia grit to ensure each event runs smoothly and exceeds her clients’ expectations.

Amanda’s passion for creating impactful events began in her native Louisiana, where she planned disaster recovery volunteer trips for hundreds of high school and college students after Hurricane Rita. After completing her Masters at George Washington University in legislative affairs, Amanda worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly ten years in government relations, where she planned countless Hill briefings, salon dinners, report releases, and spearheaded advocacy campaigns. In the last five years, Amanda turned this passion into her day job, planning conferences, fundraising dinners, and advocacy days (in person and now virtually).

When Amanda isn’t going gaga over spreadsheets, she’s conjuring up culinary delights in the kitchen or watching documentaries about Old Hollywood.
